The lights of Hilo, the bay, and the foreground palm trees at the Naniloa Volcanoes Resort Hotel we
stayed at in December, 2010. The above image was taken on Christmas Eve looking west toward the
city, with Mauna Kea in the distance to the right center (with clouds above). The Great Square of
Pegasus (constellation) is above Mauna Kea, the planet Jupiter above the palm trees (blurred by the
breeze in this 30 second exposure), and the star Deneb Kaitos in the constellation of Cetus is to the
upper left. We couldn't get the hotel to turn off their lights, although it makes for a nice picture!
