A
nice noctilucent cloud display as seen from the north coast of Oregon
on June 20, 2021. These clouds are the highest known clouds, usually
some 50 miles above the earth surface. Between 70 and 100 minutes
after a local sunset at high latitudes, in a much darkened sky, the sun
still is reflected off these ice ladden clouds.
