This
spectacular astronomical conjunction between the crescent Moon and the
planet Venus on July 15, 2018 as seen from the water's edge near Cannon
Beach Oregon. The two large monoliths, called the 'Needles', are just
south of Haystack Rock, and are approximately 100 feet tall. This
image was choosen as the July 17, 2018 "Astronomy Picture
of the Day" (APOD).
