A snow
flower (or snow plant) found along the Angeles Crest Highway
on May 4, 2017. This is a parasitic plant that obtains its sustenance
and nutrients from fungi that attach to the roots of trees. Beacuse
it lacks chlorophyll, it is unable to photosynthesize.
