The
zodiacal light appears just above the fishing boat on the right, and
rises diagonally upward to the top of the frame above the wreck of the
Peter Iredale on the north Oregon coast in the Fort Stevens State Park.
This 'light' is from the dust particals in the solar system, that also lie
in the ecliptic plane with the planets and asteroids. The constellation
Orion is slightly above, and to the left of the 'wreck'.
