Sunrise over the Sierra Nevada Mountains near Lone Pine, California on February 1, 2017.
The center of this image is Mount Whitney, with the Keeler and Day Needles to the left.
Mt. Muir is along that same ridge well to the left, as a small peak. There was a large
amount of snow from the recent storms in California, but with the sharp vertical relief
of these mountains, it looks less than the reported 20+ feet that has accumulated.
Below, center right lower edge, is the road to Whitney Portals, but snowed in.
